Theory and fundamentals of how and why fires start, spread and are controlled; an in-depth study of fire chemistry and physics, fire characteristics of materials, extinguishing agents, and fire control techniques. Prerequisite: FIRE B1. Hours: 54 lect/disc/demo. Field trips required. Offered: S. CCS: Occupational Education. Transferable: CSU and private colleges. Note: Elective credit only.
