Basic principles and procedures of food safety training including prevention of food-related illnesses and the development and implementation of food safety systems in food facilities. Course is designed for managers and employees to meet/renew the minimum food safety certification requirements of California legislation effective January 1, 2000. Certificate of Sanitation is awarded from the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association upon passing the required exam. Recommended: Reading Level 5 or 6. Hours: 9 lect/disc. Repeat: Unlimited. As needed for mandated training. CCS: Occupational Education. Not Transferable: Not degree applicable. Note: Course does not satisfy FDSV B52 requirement of certificate/degree Foods & Nutrition Program option.
