After successful completion of this course, students will be authorized to take the Kern County EMS, California State Fire Marshal and/or the National Registry EMT examinations. Topics discussed include pre-hospital care terminology, cardiovascular emergencies, pre-hospital childbirth, communicable disease, extrication tools and equipment, automatic external defibrillation and an understanding of the emergency medical system.
